Welcome to Café Polar-tut, a charming café nestled in the heart of Narsarsuaq, Greenland. This quaint spot is more than just a place to grab a coffee; it’s a haven for weary travelers seeking comfort, warmth, and delightful flavors after a long journey.

At Café Polar-tut, the atmosphere is both inviting and laid-back, making it the perfect pit stop to unwind. Imagine sipping a freshly brewed coffee while surrounded by friendly locals, with the sound of soft chatter blending seamlessly with the aroma of baked goods wafting through the air. This is where you can take a moment to breathe, catching up on the day's events or simply enjoying a moment of solitude.

The menu is a treasure trove of delightful offerings. A must-try is the delectable carrot cake, hailed by customers as nothing short of legendary. Robert Randazzo couldn't have put it better: “The carrot cake alone is worth the trip.” The rich flavors and moist texture make it an absolute treat for your palate. Pair this sweet delight with a warm cup of coffee or indulge in a local brew after stepping off your flight. Here, you can savor Qajaq doppelbrock on tap; another local favorite that enhances the cozy vibe of this charming café.

For those with a heartier appetite, the café also offers choices like the bacon and cheese burger, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Just be mindful that the café may have only one person managing the space, so while the food is well worth the wait, it adds to the personal touch of your experience.

Café Polar-tut is more than just a café; it’s a community space where everyone feels welcomed. Despite the challenges sometimes faced in service, as noted by Francesco Sirotti who appreciated the staff’s dedication even when they were working solo, the overall experience shines through. Take Rich Orman’s words to heart, too: “The outdoor deck has a nice view of the fjord,” enriches the overall ambiance, offering you a picturesque setting to enjoy your meal.

Though a few reviews hint at humorous misunderstandings, like Chris Dennis’s anecdote about dogs and divorce, the core of Café Polar-tut remains strong. Customers appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the welcoming atmosphere that encourages everyone to relax, even if they’ve just finished a long flight.

In essence, Café Polar-tut is not just a stop to fill your stomach; it’s a place to immerse yourself in the beauty of Narsarsuaq, make new friends, and enjoy local flavors that truly reflect this beautiful region. So come on in, enjoy a slice of life here in Greenland, and experience the genuine warmth that makes this café a delightful gem.

Hosts could not be friendlier. Carrot cake alone is worth the trip. This is a great place to get coffee or to enjoy a nice pint after a long flight up from Goose Bay. They were wonderful to this tired DC-3 crew and very much appreciated our business.

I took a dog to read a snack but my parents split up and went opposite ways. I think they divorced because i sometimes send messages to our dog. Well, the dog died a few years ago and we havent been back yet. The staff said they don't want dead dogs lying around and that's understandable. They were friendly about it, but man....this place has a high reputation fr divorces

Perfect place to wait for your plane. I tried the bacon and cheese burger, the local Qajaq doppelbrock on tap and the french fries, and they were all good. There's only one person working here, so be prepared to wait a little

I had some time to kill in this little, quiet, town. Walking past this establishment I saw the word “brewery” and had to check it out. The beer is brewed in the next town over, but it was fresh and delicious. The outdoor deck has a nice view of the fjord. All of the other customers were locals having lunch (hamburgers being the apparent favorite). I really enjoyed the beer and the location.

Best place to hang out with great local beer and food menu, possible to buy excursions for both sea and land. If you are in Narsarsuaq you have to go there.
